DIY – From T-Shirt to Tanktop with Leather Detail

Eine Challenge des deals.com Events von vor drei Wochen war es ein T-Shirt zu verändern und in Szene zu setzen. Wir haben also alle das gleiche, schlichte T-Shirt mit Love-Aufdruck von Bonprix bekommen und sollten daraus einen Eyecatcher nach unserem Stil machen. Ich war lange ziemlich planlos und hatte keine wirklich gute Idee. Und ich bin da so jemand, der bei solchen kreativen Challenges immer etwas ganz besonderes und einzigartiges machen möchte… da kommt der Perfektionist in mir raus.

Jedoch kam und kam ich nicht auf eine gute Idee und habe im Internet nach Inspirationen gesucht… die meisten DIYs konnte ich direkt vergessen, da ich keine Nähmaschine habe – ich brauchte irgendwas, wofür man nur eine Schere, Nadel und Faden braucht. Also blieb ich weiterhin planlos… bis ich beschlossen habe einfach mal durch meine Kiste mit altem Schmuck und Krams durchzugucken in der Hoffnung, dass da vielleicht irgendetwas brauchbares für ein DIY zu finden ist. Und in der Tat war etwas brauchbares dabei: Ein alter, silberner Kettengürtel mit Ledereinsätzen! Endlich hatte ich also die ultimative Idee – ich nutze Teile des Gürtels einfach als Träger und mach aus dem T-Shirt ein Tanktop! Also hab ich mir die Textilschere geschnappt und einfach mal losgelegt… und ich bin wirklich super zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis. Vorher hätte ich das Shirt wahrscheinlich nicht angezogen, aber nach dem DIY finde ich es absolut tragbar und sogar echt cool – und es war echt einfach umzusetzen!

One of the challenges during the deals.com Event two weeks ago was transforming a simple, white T-Shirt into a new and stylish piece. So we all got the same shirt from Bonprix and should make an eyecatcher out of it! Honestly, I did not have any idea at first. When it comes to such creative challenges I always want to make something special and come up with a really good idea… the perfectionist speaking. So I collected some inspiration on the internet, but somehow most ideas involved a sewing machine and the most I can handle are scissors, needle and thread. So I remained without a good idea and decided to go through my old jewelry in hope to find something usable for the DIY … and in fact I found a old chain-belt with some leather details and then directly an image popped up in my mind: I’m going to use parts of the belt as straps! So I turned the T-Shirt into a tanktop  and I really like how it turned out. I could absolutely imagine me wearing that top… and it was so easy!
