Scandinavian Stories about the Long Black Coat

Long black coat

I feel like everywhere they are talking about Scandinavian style and brands. If you wondering what they exactly mean by that – here is what it’s about. You probably have the following image in your head now: An old guy from Norway with a long beard, a thick wool hat with a pompom and that typical knit with this Norwegian pattern. Well, that’s actually very far from what the fashion industry is selling us under the name of Scandinavian fashion. In fact its all about clean cuts and colors; minimalism at its finest. Essential pieces in premium quality that are meant to last for a long time – kind of working against this whole fast fashion thing currently going on. And I must admit, I am a really big fan of that. We’ve become so reckless with the way we shop trends, compromising on quality and throwing the piece away after one season. Unfortunately I’m not an exception, but I’ve come to realize how great it is to own a couple of essential, high quality pieces that dont go out of fashion and are wearable for many years. One of them is this long black coat from Ivy&Oak, which I simply love for the current weather, plus it really scales up every outfit. In today’s post I combined it with a beige turtleneck, boyfriend jeans and some catchy leopard booties… you know I just need a little spice in my looks, haha. Plus, I also consider these boots as really good essentials. Dark red lips, perfect for the season, make this look even more sophisticated and kinda „grown up“ if you know what I mean.

I’m Wearing:
Long black coat – Ivy & Oak
Pullover – River Island
Ankle Boots – Konstantin Starke
Jeans – Mango

Die Kombi ist genial – so schlicht und klassisch mit dem schwarzen Mantel und dann die Boots als Eyecatcher. Top! :)
